Fashion, finally.
Favourite pieces - Rhinestone Necklace
Of course, the fact that I got the necklace from my mother makes it special already.
My mom used to have a big jewellery box, lined with red velvet, filled with a mix of many styles - 70s earrings, 50s watches, delicate gold ring, bold silver pendants. This necklace is shiny, sparkly and beautiful, I already fell in love with it as a young girl (pre-teenage already). Being generous and carefree, she gave it to me and I was always looking after it as if it was a really precious pieces (maybe it even is).
She got it on a fleamarket in Amsterdam in the late 60s, but it might be some kind of Art-Deco? I don’t know. It still sparkles in these rainbow-colors that I never find in the usual rhinestone-jewellery, plus it look great with my heathergrey sweaterdress.

Color Scheme
I have to prepare for autum - colorwise. So in love with these shades. All Marni via style.com

Favourite pieces - Velvet Pochette
…these is something like a series of my very favourite, cherished pieces in my wardrobe.
I start with this pochette.
It’s from the late 30s or early 40s maybe – soft velvet, fine broidery.
I imagine a chic woman wore it with loose silk empire dress to cocktailparties - I’m also carring it when I go out, sipping Gin Tonic, wearing a casual dark-jeans and dark cotton v-neck. I’m looking for that silkdress nevertheless…
Some things make you dream - and those illusions can hardly be transported via new products and garments - history is found in vintage pieces more easily, especially when things like couture is iut of (financial) reach.
There is no label inside.

I found it in a secondhand-shop in the outskirts of Hamburg.
